HRAAP attains a support for the first instance compensation verdict for a Detainee who Underwent Torture during his detention period

Within the framework of the HRAAP campaign against torture, it could support for the first instance compensation verdict for a political detainee who underwent torture during his detention period that exceeded thirteen years.

In May 29, 2004, Division 39 for compensations, South Cairo Court, 24849/2003 filed by Tarek Abdel-Sattar Ahmed Murad against the Egyptian Minister of Interior. The court judged in its first instance a compensation of LE 12000, as compensation for the material and moral damage that resulted from torture during his detention from July 15, 1999 to July 14, 200. it is wort mentioning that the aforementioned was issued against him many detention orders and he is still detained. 

In addition he was afflicted wit many injuries whether from detention period or torture in addition to restricting his freedom.
