The Cinema and Human Rights
“Souk Al Mot’a” “Pleasure Market”
As a model

The Human Rights Association for the Assistance of Prisoners organizes an artistic evening show on Saturday 11 September 2004 regarding “Souk Al Mot’a” “Pleasure Market” film. This comes as a continuation to the Cinema and Human Rights Program adopted by the Human Rights Association for the Assistance of Prisoners. The evening consists of a show of the film, and a discussion regarding the circumstances of its production, display, and the role that the cinema plays in affirming human rights issues. Dr. Nagy Fawzy, artistic writer, who will present a discussion paper, will moderate the discussion. The participants to the discussion will be:

Ramsis Marzouk, the Cameraman

The film shall be displayed at 5 P.M - 7 P.M, followed by a discussion, and an open tea buffet.

The show will be held in Al-Lotus Hall, Pyramiza Hotel, Dokki, that is in front of Cairo Sheraton.
 

It is noteworthy that this is the 16 th symposium held by the HRCAP since May, 2002 till May 2003 at which the following films were displayed: Al-Karnak, Al-Horoob, Al-Mazag, Al-Avocato, Halawet Al-Rooh, War’a Al-Shams, Al-Sarkha, Ehna Betou’ El-Otoubees, Al-Bedaih, Kalam Fi Al-Mamnou’, Al-Barei’, Al-Horoob Men Al-Khanka, Thalathah Ala Al-Tareeq, E’dam Taleb Thanwi, and Zowar Al-Fagr, Al Asfour, Bawabat Eblis, Lail Wa Kudban, Malaf Fel Adab and Al Tahwila.

The previous films were displayed within the framework of the HRAAP activities, activities against the phenomenon of torture in Egypt that also include discussions, artistic evenings, conferences, and exhibition.
