Within the framework of the HRAAP campaign against torture, it could attain a judicial verdict of compensation for a political prisoner who experienced torture during a period of detention exceeded 9 years.

On September 13, 2004, the court circuit in southern Cairo issued a compensation verdict of 12000 L.E. in case No. 1007/ 2004 by Adel Abdel Wahhab Hassan Ibrahim against the Egyptian Ministry of Interior in its first instance verdict, as a compensation for torture he experienced during the period of detention. It is noteworthy that the plaintiff was issued against him a detention decision from 3/1/1998 to 2/1/1999. The plaintiff was issued against him many detention orders till he was released on 15/5/2003.

He was afflicted with dreadful harms because of long-term detention in addition to restricting his freedom.
