HRAAP attains a compensation of 24000 L.E. for a Detainee Underwent Torture

Within the framework of the HRAAP campaign against torture, it could attain a judicial verdict of compensation for a political prisoner who experienced torture during a period of detention exceeded 12 years and still detained.

On September 13, 2004, the court circuit in southern Cairo issued a compensation verdict of 24000 L.E. in case No. 958/ 2004 by Badr Abdel Fattah Mohamed against the Egyptian Ministry of Interior in its first instance verdict, as a compensation for torture he experienced during the period of detention. It is noteworthy that the plaintiff was issued against him a detention decision from 29/4/1994 to 28/4/1996. The plaintiff was issued against him many detention orders and he is still detained until now.

He was afflicted with dreadful harms because of long-term detention in addition to restricting his freedom.
