Torture crime in the Egyptian legislation and judicial principle

New Training Evidence in Series of Trainings in Means of Protecting Human Rights

Today, the Human Rights Association for the Assistance of Prisoners issues the fourth training evidence in "The Series of Training Evidence in Means of Protecting Human Rights" entitled "Torture Crime in the Egyptian Legislation and Judicial Principle". Three versions of these series were issued until now aiming to providing information and experience for practitioners in this field to improve and develop their performance. These series come in the framework of the faith of the Human Rights Association for the Assistance of Prisoners that the accumulated experience, to defend the detainees and their families' rights, is the right of society generally and human rights organizations and desiring lawyers to work in this field particularly. It sees that generalizing this experience, by publicizing it, will assist everyone want to affiliate with the groups of defenders of human rights as they have to be equipped with experience and knowledge in addition to what they will contribute to organizations that desire to carry out programs of legal aid that may find in the material of these evidence what help them to train lawyers in procedures of filing a case…etc. This version tackles torture crime and what is related to it such as legal and constitutive texts, in addition to the legal explanations and legislators opinions and related provisions in Penal Code or Legal Procedures Law.

Moreover, it will tackle the texts of covenants that were ratified by Egypt especially the covenant of combating torture and its parallels in the positive law. It was specified a special part in the judicial principles and it was attached to research two parts; the first one is about the medical explanations for injuries and their kinds in addition some full rulings. So we hope for this book to be little contribution to the field of the protection of the right to physical safety according to the message of the Human Rights Association for the Assistance of Prisoners.
