"The Satan Gate"

The Human Rights Association for the Assistance of Prisoners (HRAAP) organizes an artistic evening about the movie " The Satan Gate", as a continuation for the cinema and the human rights program, which was adopted by HRAAP before declaring it as a domestic association .This evening includes a show for the movie, and a discussion about the circumstances which affected on producing and showing it, and the role which the cinema plays to affirm the human rights, at which it discusses the matter of torturing and forcing the suspects to force them to confess to crimes they didn't commit. The importance of this matter lies in the successive events of  the actress  Habeba who was condemned for a killing crime, after forcing her to confess to committing this crime "by the investigators" . Later on, the true suspects for this crime appeared after about five years of imprisoning her. This story was repeated to four innocent citizens from Toukh , they were condemned for a killing crime they didn't commit.

 

The artistic writer /Nagy Fowzy presents the main paper of discussion, and manages the discussion. The participants to the discussion will be:

The Director Aadel El-Aasar "the movie director"

The great actor Hesham Abdelhamid "the movie hero"

The young lady, the actress Habeba "the hero of the previous      events"

Mr.: Ahmed Saif "the lawyer and the manager of Hesham Mubarak Center for law"

 

On the other hand, the movie will be showed completely from 5pm to 7pm, following it directly the discussion, and an open tea banquet. The evening will be held in El-Lutes hall in Perameza hotel in El-Duki ,opposite Sheraton hotel in Cairo.

 

It is worth to mention that this symposium is the 17th, which were organized by the HRAAP since May 2002 till September 2003, about the movies of El-karnak, El-Mazag, El-Heroub, El-Avocatu, Halawet El-Rouh, Waraa El-Shams, El-Sarkha, Ehna Betoua El-Autobis, El-bedaya, Kalam Fi El-Mamnoua, El-bareea, Elhroub Men ElKhanka, Thalatha Ala El-Tarik, E'dam Taleb Thanawy, Zewar El-Fagr and El-Asfour, all these movies were organized within the activities of the HRAAP, against the phenomena of torture in Egypt, and include also discussion, artistic evenings, conferences and exhibitions.
