In the memory of the 55th international announcement of the Human Rights, HRAAP appeals the Egyptian government, the Egyptian Civil Organizations and the human rights activists to practice their role in asserting and applying the human rights concepts and facing those who violate them.

  Today, 55 years have passed since the issuance of the international announcement of the human rights in 10/9/1948. This announcement made a frame of a group of rights and bases of freedom, which are internationally coherent. These rights should be applied fairly without violating any of these rights or freedoms. Despite the long time that passed, man still ignore the human rights, and disgusting them is a daily truth that people witness everywhere, even the newly issued rights such as the right to development which is still far reached from many people.

 That is why, applying these rights and freedoms needs a long time. There is a dire need to having the governments reply the peoples appeals for restoring their rights as human in order to create the suitable atmosphere for practicing freedom. Also, there is a need to new generations of defendants who do their best to defend these rights and prevent violating it .

 The national ruling democratic party(NDP) has ended its general annual conference entitled “The Rights of Citizenship” which refers to the rights that man acquires as a citizen in a state. So, HRAAP re-affirms the necessity to respect the human rights and to make the citizens aware of these rights and the authorities to which people can resort if any of their rights is violated. This can be a practical translation of the slogans that NDP supported in its annual conference. The mass media that follows NDP government can help for this matter.

 On the other hand, the association believes that applying and cementing the principles of the human rights isn’t an easy matter, and the government will not be able to make these changes alone. That is why, HRAAP appeals the Egyptian government to give the Egyptian civil associations the chance to contribute in this issue independently, which can’t be achieved without legal frames and emphasizing the concept of “the opinion and the other”.
